A busy family reached out to us, seeking to revitalize their front and backyard gardens. Their vision for the front garden focused on enhancing curb appeal while ensuring low maintenance, whereas the backyard needed a clean aesthetic with added privacy from a nearby alley. We aimed to create a design that was easy to care for and showcased vibrant colors throughout the growing season. Given the challenges posed by a large, canopied tree and limited sunlight in the front, we opted for shade-loving plants like Astilbe, Coral Bell, and Annabelle Hydrangea, while also rearranging the existing Hosta’s. In the backyard, we completely removed the old landscape, enriched the soil with organic triple mix, and planted a row of Yew’s, complemented by a front row of Hosta’s. The finishing touches included a layer of mulch and a beautifully crafted natural edge, enhancing the overall appeal and privacy of the space.
